Grocery store fish for my Oscar?

I've read a lot of people buy things like frozen shrimp from their local grocery stores to feed to their fish. Well I wanna do this!!! Are shrimp the best idea for this? Or are there other types of fish I should look for that may be more nutritionally valuable for cichlids like oscars and jack dempseys?
