How do i get closer to this guy?

okay well i've decided what i'm gonna do bout the guy i've been confused about for a while, i've decided that i wanna be closer to him (friends) first and depending if something develops...so i'll just have to see how my heart/brain feels about him after, but i don't know how as he doesn't have MSN, he deleted me off facebook cos of something me and my friend did to him but he's alright with it i mean he's still talking to me and that, and i have his phone number but i'm not to sure if it's the right one and if it is...he's not replying, help please no one's answered
